Challenges
As with most Government Contracts, one of the biggest challenges that we face is the race to get contractors credentialed. With the BOP, there is the added layer of passing credit checks to help limit the likelihood of accepting bribes. With lower-level positions, this results in screening 10-15 interested candidates before finding one acceptable to submit.
Solutions
To overcome the issue of finding a qualified and interested candidate that will pass both the background and credit checks, we not only run a full criminal background check, but also run a credit check to alleviate having candidates start the credentialing process only to be found unacceptable once the credit check is run. We ensure all paperwork is complete and submitted properly and in a timely manner and we make every effort to get all candidates through credentialing quickly and efficiently.
